Adoption

Developing an adoption plan can empower you to create a positive future for you and your baby. There are many things that you have control of when developing an adoption plan.

At Elizabeth's Hope, we offer support and guidance if this is the option you are considering.

Research has shown that pregnant teens and women who make an adoption plan are more likely to finish schooling, have better jobs, and overall report a high level of satisfaction with their decision of adoption.

Thousands of women each year make this choice.
Below are different options when choosing adoption.

Open Adoption

Open adoption is when you have the option to be involved in your child's adoptive journey. As the birthmother, you can choose to look into adoptive family profiles and pick a family that would be a good fit for you and your baby. After the adoption is finalized you can still be a part of your child's life through personal contact.

Semi-Open Adoption

Semi-open adoption is very similar to open adoption, except communication can sometimes be passed through the adoption professional instead of through personal contact.

Closed Adoption

A closed adoption is when you and the adoptive parents remain anonymous for the entire process, during pregnancy and after delivery. With closed adoptions in Ohio, you will not communicate with your baby's adoptive parents after placement and finalization occur. This means that you would not exchange personal information and you would not be able to reach out directly to your baby's adoptive family.

you have the confidence in knowing that you have given your child the chance for a new life.
